Covid-19

Your appointment, Vaccines and Cosmetic Procedures

Every care is taken to protect you and other clinic users from the COVID-19 virus. Please do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms that suggest you may have COVID. These include a fever, continuous cough and sore throat. We would be grateful if you would perform a lateral flow test prior to your appointment and report any positive results as per current national guidelines. Wearing of masks is no longer compulsory but a personal choice. Clinic staff here at Jo Hunter Aesthetics will continue to wear a mask at this present time.

Policies and client safety

Whilst it is no longer a requirement to wear a mask, I will continue to do so throughout your consultation and treatment but it is your choice whether to wear a mask or not. Masks are available at the clinic.

You will receive a COVID - 19 questionnaire to complete via email prior to your appointment.

Patient appointments are well spaced to allow thorough cleaning and ventilation of the clinic room between appointments.

Hand sanitiser is available for you to use.

All surfaces are cleaned with antibacterial detergents between clients.

Contactless payments are preferred.

It is understood that any infection, viral or bacterial, will illicit an immune response in a healthy individual. Vaccines, by their very purpose, stimulate an immune response which varies from one type of vaccine to another. Rarely a heightened immune response can cause swelling in dermal fillers. Such a reaction is rare and usually self-limiting. The evidence related specifically to the COVID-19 vaccines, to date is very limited and does not reliably indicate a level of risk or likelihood of occurrence that would give us a clear indication of risk or enable sound protocols.

Botulinum Toxin, COVID and COVID Vaccines

There is no evidence, or pharmacological basis for any special precautions or advice regarding botulinum toxin, except that which already applies. Some known side-effects of botulinum toxin are very similar to those of a vaccine (e.g. headache, flu like symptoms, nausea), therefore avoid scheduling treatment within two weeks (before or after) of a vaccine. This time frame allows for any possible post treatment side effects to settle either from botulinum toxin treatment or the possible side-effects of a vaccine.
